The Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech Men's Hockey Team traveled to the University of Buffalo this past weekend for a doubleheader. The men easily took care of business on the road as they were able to come out on top with an impressive two-game sweep against a well-balanced Buffalo team. The Blue Devils found the net very effortlessly scoring a total of 16 goals.
Game 1 – It didn't take long for the men to get on the board in this one, starting off the first-period red hot scoring a total of 3 goals. There was no slowing down after the first intermission as LTU was firing on all cylinders. Lawrence Tech was sharing the puck very well ending the game with a total of 12 assists. The final score in Game 1 was 7-1 Lawrence Tech.
Game 2 – Leaving right where they left off, the Blue Devils showed no mercy in Game 2. Buffalo was able to find the back of the net first, but that didn't stop LTU from answering back with 2 goals of their own. After one period the game was tied 2-2. Both teams struggled to find the net in the second period after ending the intermission scoreless. Lawrence Tech came out in attack mode in the 3rd as the chemistry was clicking once again; they just couldn't seem to miss the net. The Blue Devils were able to capitalize on an outstanding total of 7 goals alone in the 3rd period. 8 different players scored in the final period. The final score in this one was 9-2 Lawrence Tech.
Moving forward the Blue Devils will look to take care of home ice and carry their offensive momentum into the weekend against conference rival Indiana Tech. The puck will drop on Friday night at 8:15 pm, followed by a Saturday evening matchup at 5:30 pm.
