Box Score West Palm Beach, Fla. - The Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team fell on Saturday afternoon to the #1 ranked Reinhardt University 14-5.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Blue Devils (1-1) struggled at the beginning of the game, despite Wyatt Nedbal scoring the first and only goal of the first half 30 seconds in. After the goal from Nedbal, Reinhardt (3-0) went on to score six goals, including a man up goal to close the first quarter. The second qaurter saw LTU defensively slow down the Eagles, only allowing five goals, and one man up goal. Closing the first half of the game, LTU was down 11-1.
The second half of the game, LTU fought back. The Blue Devils shut down the Eagles in the third quarter, where each team met at a stalemate of no goals passing either keeper. In the fourth, LTU crawled back after RU opened the final quarter with a goal. LTU answered from the stick of Damian Hudson. When Reinhardt responded right back, LTU went on a three goal streak, from Aidan Nolan, with assist from Justin Light, and two back to back goals from Maveric Muscat. Despite the late surge from LTU, the Eagles won the game 14-5.
The Blue Devils play again on Monday, March 9th in West Palm Beach, Fla. where they face St. Andrews at noon. The Knights (1-3) come into the match with a recent 17-10 loss to UM-Dearborn and a 29-7 loss to SCAD.
