Grand Rapids, MI - The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) men's tennis team played a very solid conference opponent in Aquinas College. LTU competed as many of the matches on the day went to the final set, but the men just didn't have enough to come out with the win. Aquinas beat LTU 2-5.
In the #1 afternoon doubles match against Davenport, Alexander Tammaro and Jannis Schneider started the day beating their opponent 6-0. The next doubles match was between Lukas Obel and Kevin Bollmann and they lost 2-6. Alex Rajal and Luca Roth were the third and finals doubles match and finished strong for the team as they were able to win 6-3.
In afternoon singles matches, Tammaro was the first singles match where his match went all the way to the final set in a close battle. The match ended in Aquinas favor with a final score of 6-2, 3-6, 5-7. Bollmann was the #2 singles match for the Blue Devils, he was the only winner on the day for singles matches for his team. Final score in his match was 6-0, 3-6, 7-5. Schneider was the third singles match and he lost in straight sets by a final score of 3-6, 4-6. Rajal, Obel and Roth all lost their matches as well.
LTU will be back to the court Saturday, April 3rd as they take on Spring Arbor University on the road in Spring Arbor, Michigan. The match will begin at 12 PM and will be played inside the Jones Tennis Complex.
