Women's Tennis Battles, Loses Close One to Aquinas

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team faced Aquinas College in the first round of the WHAC Tournament.

In women's doubles, Vanessa Heylmun / Jenna Hausman handled Maria Nicholls / Angela Anderanin 6-1
Carolin Minners / Margot Fontaine defeated Carlota Arzabe / Mimi Pacheco 6-1
Olga Aliagas Mejina / Alice Radde were defeated Sofia Gomez / Joska Volder 6-1, clinching the point for AQ
In 4-singles, Minners defeated Pacheco in straight 6-1 sets. AQ 1, LTU 1
Anderanin was no match for Heylmun in 5-singles, dropping the sets 6-0, 6-3. AQ 2, LTU 1
Fontaine defeated Arzabe in 2-singles 6-4, 6-1. AQ 2, LTU 2
Mejina took down Gomez 6-2, 6-4 in the top-flight match. LTU 3, AQ 2
Radde lost to Volder 6-2, 6-4 in 3-singles. LTU 3, AQ 3
Nicholls took her 6-singles opponent to three sets, but ultimately lost to Hausman 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. AQ takes it, 4-3.

This ends the women's tennis season, ending 11-11
