SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Lake Superior State (Mich.) University on Saturday, March 2 at the Franklin Athle

Lake Superior (8-9) took an early lead as the team won by default court-three doubles and singles-fifth and sixth flights. At doubles court-one, Sabrina Mateos (JR/Mexico City, Mexico) and Maria Vega-Hazas (FR/Santander, Spain) fell 8-0 to Nadege Koua and Tara Harvey. Samantha Kohn (SO/Dearborn, Mich.) and Samantha Weber (FR/Clarkston, Mich.) lost 8-6 against AlexiAnn Drouin and Keegan Malpass.

In singles action, Weber won 6-1, 6-2 at fourth flight. Mateos lost 6-2, 6-1 at court-two. Vega Hazas fell 6-0, 6-1 at first flight, while Kohn lost 6-1, 6-0 at court-three.

Lawrence Tech (4-5) will return to the court on Wednesday, March 6 at 12:30 p.m. when the team hosts its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe of the season, Indiana Tech (2-6), at the Franklin Athletic Club.
