Franklin Athletic Club - Southfield, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team (6-2) continued their winning ways vs. Lake Superior State University on Monday. Coming off two straight loses, the Blue Devils came out and competed and played a all around solid match as a group. They won by a team score of 5-4.
The only doubles team point was earned by the Blue Devils winning the #3 match. It was Sam Weber and Alice Radde who won the only doubles match by a score of 7-5. Lake Superior State jumped out to an early 2-1 lead heading into the singles matches.
The Lakers struck first in the singles matches by winning the #1 and #3 singles match. The Blue Devils did not concede another team point for the remainder of the match. The Blue Devils were able to win four straight matches to seal the team victory. Matoes won three sets 0-6, 6-2, 10-4. Minners won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Weber won in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 and Radde won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
The Blue Devils improved to 6-2 on the season and will be back in action Tuesday, Feburary 25th at home at The Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield, Mich. This match will begin at 12:00pm.
