Lima, Ohio - The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team was able to bounce back after two straight losses, as they were able to come out on top against Davenport University in the afternoon on Saturday, February 27th. The final score in that contest was 4-3.
In the #1 afternoon doubles match against Davenport, Oona Kintscher and Samantha Kohn won a their match with a final score of 6-3 as they beat Molan and Coetzee. In the #2 doubles match, Samantha Weber and Alice Radde ended with a no result finish on the afternoon. Maria Nicholls and Eva Ramsimmer were the third doubles match on the day, and they beat their opponent, Skogmo and Orr with a final score of 6-2.
In the afternoon singles matches, Kintscher started the day for LTU as she was about to win in straight sets with a final score of 6-2, 6-4. Kohn was the next singles match, and she played, I. Corotino, and Corotino beat her in straight sets with a score of 6-7, 0-6. The teams third single match for the lady Blue Devils was Weber, and she beat her matchup in straight sets with a final score of D. Molan. Alice Radde followed suit, and beat S. Jackson in striaght sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3. The fourth singles match for LTU was Jessica Bettley as she came up short in her match, losing in straight sets with a final score of 1-6, 3-6 to E. Skogmo. The final singles match on the day was the only match that went to the final set as Erin Hatala fought hard to win in the final set, but couldn't get the job done as she lost with a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 8-10.
LTU will be back to the courts Wednesday afternoon March 3rd where the match will begin at 12:00 PM as the team will travel to Findley, Ohio to play Findley University inside the Findley YMCA.
