Southfield, MI - The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team dominated in all aspects of their match play, both singles and doubles by sweeping Saint Francis of Indiana by a final score of 6-0. This was a much-needed victory after a a handful of games had been canceled in the recent weeks. The team showed no signs of rust, and came out with maximum effort and energy on both ends of the court.
In the #1 afternoon doubles match against St. Francis, Oona Kintscher and Samantha Kohn controlled their whole entire game winning 6-0, not losing one set. In the #2 doubles match, Samantha Weber and Eva Ramsimmer continued to lay down the law in their match as they beat their opponent 6-1. Going into the singles matches, the Blue Devils had all the momentum, and continued to carry the weight on their shoulders to win.
In the afternoon singles matches, Kintscher started the day for LTU as she was about to win in straight sets with a final score of 6-1, 6-0 beating Jessica Henline. Weber was the next singles match, and she played, Gabby Buday. Weber was locked in from the very first serve, calling all the shots by not losing one single set. She beat her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets. The teams third single match for the lady Blue Devils was Kohn and she following right in suit with Weber, by not losing a single set either. 6-0, 6-0 was the final score for her match. Ramsimmers was the fourth singles match as she held the upper hand all match. Giving her opponent no chance to come back, she won 6-1, 6-0 in her match.
LTU Women's Tennis will be back to the courts Wednesday afternoon Sunday, March 28th as they will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to play conference team Aquinas College. The match will begin at 10 AM. The will be played inside the MVP Sportsplex.
