Pepper Pike, OH - The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team traveled to Ohio to face off against John Carroll University.
In doubles, Sam Weber / Angela Anderanin were dominant, defeating Jaclyn Voss / Emily Duckett 8-0.
Samantha Kohn / Margot Fontaine also defeated their competitors Morgan Little / Caroline Chandler, to win the doubles point for the Blue Devils.
Olga Alaigas Mejina / Alice Radde finished their doubles set victorious as well, sweeping the doubles round of the match. LTU takes a 1-0 lead.
In singles, Alice Radde shut out 5-singles opponent Payton Crumple in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead.
The 6-singles battle between Angela Anderanin and Jaclyn Voss went in favor of Anderanin in straight sets (6-2, 7-6) for the 3rd point of the day for LTU.
Samantha Kohn and Mia Zivkovic faced off in the 2-singles matchup, where Kohn was victorious in straight set, (6-0, 6-1) to secure the match victory for the Blue Devils.
The top flight matchup between Olga Aliagas Mejina and Megan Reese also went in favor of Lawrence Tech, expanding the lead up to 5-0.
Sam Weber defeated Caroline Chandler in 4-singles, needing the super tiebreaker to secure her point (6-2, 3-6, 10-3).
In the 3-singles match, Morgan Little assured JCU that they would not be shut out, taking her match against Margot Fontaine.
Lawrence Tech matches up with Saginaw Valley on Friday, September 24 at 1 pm.
