Ypsilanti, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team had their 2022 campaign delayed by a day before traveling to NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan on Friday night, where they lost 7-0 to the Eagles.
Aligas Mejina/Radde were blanked 6-0 at 1-doubles as were Fontaine/Minners at 2-doubles.
Weber/Nicholls got on the board at 3-doubles falling 6-2 as the Eagles won the doubles point.
Olga Aligas Mejina, the 45th ranked singles player in the NAIA after the fall, won the most games of any Blue Devil, falling 2-6, 4-6 at the top singles flight.
Samantha Weber fell 1-6, 0-6 at 2-singles while Margot Fontaine dropped her first set 0-6 but won a pair of games in the second, losing 2-6 at 3-singles. Her doubles parent Carolyn Minners fell by an identical score at 4-singles.
In the 5-singles match, Radde took a game in the first set, 1-6, before being swept in the second.
Maria Nicholls won a game in each of her 6-singles sets before ultimately falling 1-6, 1-6.
The Blue Devils return home as they host NCAA Division II foe in Lake Superior State University tomorrow at 5 pm inside the Franklin Athletic Club.
