Southfield, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team ran into a Lake Superior State University Lakers squad that was cruising, losing 5-0 inside the Franklin Athletic Club on Saturday evening.
Fontaine/Minners fell 2-6 at 2-doubles but Aligas Mejina/Radde didn't fare much better, dropping their 1-doubles match 4-6 as the Lakers won the point.
Carolyn Minners was dispatched 1-6, 2-6 at 3-singles before Alice Radde dropped a first-set tiebreaker 5-7 before losing 2-6 in her second.
Samantha Weber was doubled up in her first set 3-6 before falling 1-6 in her second set at 2-singles as Lake Superior State drew within one point of clinching the match.
Aligas Mejina won her first set 6-4 at 1-singles before ultimately dropping a tight second set in a tiebreaker 6-7 to push the set to a third set 10-point tie break that Aligas Mejina lost 7-10.
The Blue Devils remain home as they host NCAA Division II foe in Wayne State University on Wednesday, February 9th at noon inside the Franklin Athletic Club.
