Under Al McLaughlin’s leadership, the Ridler Field House blossomed as a hub of student activity, and the recreation program at LTU grew both in the number of participants and the number of sports offered. He capped off his 21-year career with the University by positioning it for its return to varsity sports. The former Philadelphia Phillies farm club player previously served as Senior Physical Director at the YMCA of Detroit and a high school teacher and coach.
