Hall of Fame
One of the famed “Kokomo Kids” from Indiana, Norm Hankins, forward, led the entire nation’s major college players in scoring in 1947-48. Basketball fans nationwide selected Hankins as an All-American Player, and he was named to the 1947-48 All-NCAA Top 10 Leaders Team. Hankins led the Blue Devils’ fast breaks with blazing speed. In the 100-yard dash, he was just 0.3 seconds slower than what was then the world record. His number 4 hangs from the rafters of Don Ridler Field House.
