Lewis F. Moon oversaw 50 intramural programs that involved nearly 40 percent of the LTU’s students. He was an All-Conference and All-State player in football and basketball in high school. In college, Moon was named to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association All-Start Basketball Team in three consecutive seasons and honored as the league’s most valuable player – After he recovered from having his back broken in four places by an exploding cannon while serving in World War II. Moon graduated from Albion College in 1948. He was inducted posthumously.
