Blokdijk served as the first athletic trainer in LTU Athletics history and played a major role in the department's growth and development. She later transitioned into administration and currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Student Welfare & Development and Senior Woman Leader.

Throughout her career at LTU, Blokdijk has remained committed to the health, development, and success of Blue Devil student-athletes. Her impact on the department was recognized when she earned Athletic Trainer of the Year honors in 2018-2019. She earned her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University before completing her master's degree in Sports Administration from Wayne State University.
